In 1909, Dundee United FC was founded and became a local rival with Dundee FC. They play their home games at Tannadice Park, with room for about 14,000 supporters. The match shirts are in orange and the club's nickname is usually The Terrors or The Tangerines.
Dundee United have been successful with both domestic league and cup titles but not enough all the way in Europe. The biggest success came in 1987 when the club went all the way to the UEFA Cup final, but there they lost to Swedish IFK Gothenburg.
