Camp Nou

On September 24, 1957, the considerably larger home arena Camp Nou was completed, currently with room for 99,354 spectators. With this, FC Barcelona's home is the largest arena in Europe. In addition to a visit to the arena on match day, a visit to the well-stocked club museum or the Megastore adjacent to the Camp Nou is also recommended, with souvenirs and match stands for all tastes!
The name of the arena was originally intended to be "Estadi del FC Barcelona" but quickly became popularly called Camp Nou (the new ground). After the popular name eventually became synonymous with the arena, it finally became the arena's official name in the early 2000s.
The arena has over the years become older, but with that you also feel the history in its walls and stands during the match days. With the marching anthem "El Cant del Barça", the blue-red team is met by a passionate crowd pressure and the stands are also known for contributing to the biggest matches with a beautiful mosaic and tifo on the stands, where each spectator contributes to a fantastic visual framing before kick-off!

Highest ranking of UEFA

During the 1998-99 season, UEFA gave the services and facilities at Camp Nou a big mention by awarding it a five-star ranking. In 2010, under the new UEFA rules, this category was replaced by the new heading "Category 4", which corresponds to the arenas that meet the highest requirements for facilities, services and capacity as football stadiums.

FC Barcelona and El Clásico

With the position that the club has in the football world, lots of great matches have been played on this large lawn, with one of the largest pitches in the world (105 meters x 68 meters). This flat surface together with well-watered grass has always been an important advantage for the short-pass game that the club from Barcelona is well known for.
In this arena, lots of El Clásicos have been played, against arch-rival Real Madrid, but important matches have also been played in the Champions League and new 3-pointers have been constantly chased against competitors in La Liga.
