Hrvatski nogometni klub Rijeka is a football club from the city of Rijeka in northwestern Croatia. The club was founded in 1946 in the former Yugoslavs and three years later took the step up in the Yugoslav highest league. Since the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991, Rijeka has played in the Croatian top league Prva HNL. In the 2016/2017 season, the club won its long-awaited first championship title in the Prva HNL after three straight second places.
Their match shirts are in white and light blue and Stadion Kantrida has been the club's home arena since the start. The arena, which was built as early as 1913, has room for 12,600 spectators and is located right next to the Adriatic Sea.
