Dublin

Dublin is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Ireland. The city is located on the northeast coast of the country and has a population of about 2 million inhabitants. The climate is mild all year round and the temperature rarely extends above 18 degrees during high summer and rarely drops below 6 degrees in winter. The rainfall is abundant all year round, which gives an incredibly green and lush landscape.

Dublin is perfect for a weekend trip. This small city is best discovered by foot, as the city center is small and concentrated, but of course there are plenty of means of transport to use if desired.

See and do

The Temple Bar district is the best area when it comes to pub and nightlife. Here it is nice to just stroll around and stop at some pub or some cozy cafe. Enjoy the atmosphere and music that flows from the pubs and take the time to just be. If you want to eat well in Temple Bar, we recommend The Bad Ass Café. It serves classic pub food such as burgers and Fish n´ Chips, but you can also order a fresh salad or a homemade meat stew.

A classic for many when staying in Dublin is usually a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. This multi-storey museum is entirely dedicated to the Irish beer with its characteristic taste. Guided tours are organized every day where you can learn about everything from the production to the history of the beer. The entrance includes a Pint in the bar on the 5th floor. From here you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view over Dublin.

For those of you who like to shop cheap, we recommend a visit to Penneys. This Irish company, headquartered in Dublin, is better known as Primark outside the country. Due to naming rights, the stores had to take a different name when they expanded abroad. There are two department stores in central Dublin, one on Parnell Street and the other on O'Connell Street. Here you can find everything from clothes to makeup and interior design and it is easy to spend several hours here.

Sports

In Dublin, there are plenty of opportunities to attend various sporting events. The city has, among other things, three football teams in the country's highest league Premier Division; Shamrock Rovers FC, Bohemian FC and St Patrick's Athletic FC.
